Miss Emorie is growing taller- in fact, she spent much of her life being a lot smaller than others her age, but now seems to be catching up. She is tall and thin, and anytime I worry about this, the doctor tells me her height and weight are proportionate and to stop worrying. Emorie eats well, though she does eat small amounts at a time. She isn't really picky, she just doesn't eat a lot. She is also really active.
Here are some updates on our little lady:
Runs more often than she walks
Says "peas" and "gang you"
Asks for things by name and in complete sentences ("I want my blankie.", "I want milk.", etc). Her English teacher mother is impressed that she is using the correct pronoun. :)
Prays before eating. When we forget, she will look at us, fold her hands, and say, "I want say 'amen'."
Loves Dora the Explorer. She calls her "Doe-a" and has to wear her Dora pajamas and use her Dora toothbrush all the time!!!
Can put on and take off her shoes, can remove her pants, diaper and shirt. She hasn't figured out yet how to put her clothes back on.
Loves to eat almost all fruits, but dislikes watermelon.
Loves corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, french fries, cheese, tomatoes, apples and pineapple. She loves chicken and calls it "kicken."
Loves to wear shoes and almost always has on a pair shoes.
Loves pocketbooks- she calls them "pockicks" and asks for one almost as soon as she wakes up- she has about 5 that she keeps in her toybox.
She will tell you "I pee pee." or "I poop." when she needs to be changed. Sometimes she will tell you "I want potty." She was using the potty pretty well, but these days it is hit or miss. I am going to wait until summer to really start potty training her.
She also has begun calling things "mine" when she doesn't want someone else to have it.
When you have something she wants, she will say, "I want have that."
She loves playing outside and gets upset when she can't.
She will not let you carry her into the house- she wants to walk by herself.
She outgrew her crib and now sleeps in a toddler bed.
She had her first tooth cleaning at a pediatric dentist. She did not enjoy it, but was a trooper and ended up doing well in the long run.
She recently ran down our front steps, missed the bottom step and fell face-first onto the concrete sidewalk. She busted her lip and cut her gums, but her dentist said he doesn't think there was any damage to her tooth. We are going back in a month and in three months for x-rays just to stay on top of it and be sure it wasn't damaged.
