answered prayers!

For those of you who have read my last post and wondered what was going on, I can finally talk about it now.

I have accepted a position teaching second grade at Siler City Elementary. I am very excited about it, and grateful the Lord has answered my prayers in the way I'd hoped he might.

Just so you can know how good God has been to me, I'm providing the back story.

When it became apparent last November that I was going to be graduating this fall, I began contacting several schools to introduce myself to the principal. I went to at least 8 different schools for "informal" interviews that I set up. Siler City Elementary, which is the one I most wanted to work for, granted me two additional interviews. During this time, I kept in touch with all the principals I'd met.

Everytime I'd go to Siler City ES, I felt it was exactly where I wanted to be. I prayed about it, Michael prayed about it, and several friend and family members prayed about it. We wanted so badly for it to work out. Funnily enough, I kept running into the principal and assistant principal all over town. For awhile I couldn't go for one week without seeing one or both ladies around town.

Two weeks ago, I got a phone call from Siler City's principal. My last day at Brier Creek Elementary in Raleigh (where I am student teaching) is September 10. A teacher at SCES is retiring and her last day is September 10. Would I be willing to teach second grade, and start on September 13?? You bet.

The Lord really couldn't have worked this out better for me. When I stop and think about just how good he has been to me, it takes my breath away.
