Because of the fever and hot temperatures, we haven't gone to the playground or swimming lately. We are actually planning a zoo trip or trip to the children's museum in the next few days. We definitely need a fun activity before I go back to work.

The biggest change of all happened before we left Wednesday- Emorie actually started to walk independently. She is walking a lot but still crawls when she wants to move a little faster. I love watching her walk- she is so cute. When she falls down, she just gets back up and keeps going.
As for the developmental update, our girl is growing rapidly! She often surprises me but doing things or saying things I didn't know she knew. She loves to "read" books, turning the pages and sometimes even babbling like she's actually reading. She loves to hold phones up to her ear like she is talking to someone.
*FINALLY started walking independently.
*Has 8 teeth, two more coming in.
*New words: huh? (technically, not a word. I know), out, up.
*Drinks all whole milk and eats table foods. Loves corn, ham, potatoes and sweet potatoes!
*Finally started eating meat- she loves ham, turkey and chicken, but doesn't seem to like beef much.
*Has changed my name from "Mama" to "Mommy," though she sometimes does still call me "Mama"
*Changed my parents' names from "Mawmaw and Pawpaw" to "Mimi and Poppop"
*Says "baby" when she sees a baby, little child, or baby doll. She also does this when we see babies or little kids in magazines or on TV.
*Dances and hums when she hears music.
*Since Emorie has been saying "peepee," we put her on the potty just to see what she'd do. (We're waiting until next summer to potty-train). Her response to this was to burst out laughing.
Tune in for more updates soon!
If you put me on a potty I think I would laugh at you too!
