2 months old!

Emorie is now two months old- unfortunately, she had to celebrate her two month "birthday" with vaccines. This morning, our precious baby girl had to get three shots in her tiny thighs. She was a trooper- in fact, she cried a lot more when I put her clothes back on her than when she got her shots.

The doctor was impressed by her head control and by Emorie's overall health. Her heart and lungs sounded perfect, and even though she is a little small for her age (25th percentile), she is growing and the doctor is pleased with her growth. Emorie did not mind the exam at all, and even smiled at the doctor while she was being examined. She is right on track and we were grateful for her clean bill of health.

Emorie is not feeling well following those shots. She is alternately sleeping and crying and kicking her legs. When I was little and had to "be a big girl" for shots (which terrified me and I hated them), my mom would always let me choose a toy or something special. Today, I decided to continue the tradition and I picked up a new "friend" for my tough little bird:

Emorie is now at the point where she wants to hold onto things- shirts, hair, even the doctor's stethoscope this morning. She has lots of toys and rattles, but none that are narrow enough for her to wrap her fingers around. She is enjoying holding on to Mr. Giraffe's ears and legs.
